Types of Keys Used In Hotel
1. Guest key
A guest key is a key that is handed over to the guest at the time of the registration, it allows them to enter their assigned room. The guest key is handed over for a temporary period according to the duration of the guest. The front office department in a hotel is responsible for hand overing the key to the guest.

This type of key is connected to a Bluetooth device in the mobile phone through which the room is open.
Biometric key
This type of key can be opened through fingerprint or scans.

The master key is a key that can open multiple locks. Master key is also used in case of guest room key is lost by the guest, this type of key is also handled by the front office, housekeeping, and management system. The master key aims to do proper key management. In a hotel, it is considered as the super key.
Grandmaster key
It is considered the powerful key that can open all the hotel rooms and even the housekeeping storage room. This key gives access to everything in a hotel.
Pass key
This type of key allows hotel staff like housekeeping to clean rooms without the guest’s key card. The pass key is handed over to hotel employees to get their work done.
Section master key
This type of key provides access to specific sections of the room. It is also called a sub-master key in a hotel. This type of key allows the supervisor to access a defined set of rooms within a location.
Floor Master Key
This type of key is used by hotel staff to open the rooms to clean the floor. It aims to clean rooms without needing individual keys for each room.
3. Emergency key
It is a special type of key that is issued to unlock the room in case of an emergency (medical emergency) or an urgent situation (fire). This key helps people to deal with their situation and prevents it from being any mishappening.
